About Sophie
The Sophie Hale label focuses on classic, beautifully made clothes which remain timeless.
Sophie initially focused on wedding and evening wear but for the past decade she has designed two collections as year specialising in made to measure cocktail and evening wear as well as classic day pieces for special events.
After graduating from London University with a BA Hons in History and Art History, Sophie studied clothing production and manufacture at the London College of Fashion. She then worked in the costume department of various museums before launching the Sophie Hale label. Initially designing and creating special occasion and evening wear focusing particularly on wedding garments. For approximately the last 10 years Sophie has designed two collections a year specialising in made to measure cocktail and evening wear as well as classic day pieces for special events.
Sophie is especially well known for her trademark coats and dresses.
Sophie's philosophy is to source exquisite and rare materials with unusual prints and styles thus creating for her clients unique and beautifully handcrafted clothing. Sophie produces two new collections a year in the spring and late autumn but makes made-to-measure pieces for clients throughout the year.
The styles are incredibly flattering with the utmost attention to detail. Clients can also bring their own designs and Sophie sources the material and creates the garment as desired.
